Fayasha of the Thunderhoof Tribe
Class: Resto druid with kitty tendencies
Professions: Herbalism and Leatherworking
Why I started playing her: Fayasha is more or less my first toon. When I started playing WoW, she was the character that I learned how to play the game with. We’ve been through a lot together.
What she does now: Fay is my main raiding toon. I love resto healing. It clicks perfectly for me and though I’ve healed on the other classes, resto feels like home. And wild growth makes the best sound ever. She’s also my pet collector. I like to hunt down pretty staves for her too.
Character Story: Fayasha is a leader within her tribe and among the druids of her guild. She believes in balance among all living things and finds herself siding with certain members of the Alliance more than her own Warchief on many issues. This makes her feel intensely uncomfortable, and she’s questioned her place within the Horde a lot over the past two years. While generally tranquil, her feelings of frustration are pushing her towards more action and open defiance to defend what she believes is right.
Koralie Firehawk
Class: Ret paladin. Will heal if forced.
Professions: Jewelcrafting and Alchemy
Why I started playing her: My guild decided to launch a Blood Knight RP plotline during Wrath. Despite not being done leveling my druid, I rolled up a pally alt. I generally tend to not like playing paladins in RPGs because I feel like I can’t relate to them. I came up with a character concept I loved for her though, and then found an amazing RP partner. Thousands of pages later, we’re still writing about our characters!
What she does now: Koralie is my secondary main. I work on gearing her as soon as Fayasha is in a good place and ready for the current content of raiding. She’s also my mount collector, and the toon that I tend to use when I need to do things like running dailies or any other sort of solo activity. I collect swords with her. She’s my favorite toon.
Character Story: Koralie comes from a long line of rangers. She is the first Firehawk in recent memory to not pursue that line of work. She spent most of her adolescence in a crowd of notorious trouble makers who were more concerned with spending time with each other, altering their perceptions through use of alcohol or herbal means, and when all else failed to keep them amused, starting fights than pursuing any “worthwhile” goals. Nearly all of her friends were killed during the Scourge invasion, leaving her with only her estranged mother (her father disappeared on a mission some years earlier). A few years after the destruction of Silvermoon, Koralie enlisted in the service of Blood Knights, where she remains today.
Tenian Shelterock
Class: Frost DK
Professions: Mining and skinning
Why I started playing him: Originally he was a completely different character who was a villain. It wasn’t so much that I wanted a DK villain but that I wanted to quickly level the villain so that he seemed like more of a threat. I originally leveled him as blood DPS and totally loved it. I’m still a little sad that it’s gone.
What he does now: After realizing I didn’t want to actually spend time playing on a villain that I’ve built up into being a total jerk, I changed him into Tenian. He’s mostly a gathering drone and I don’t worry too much about gearing him.
Character Story: Tenian is the equivalent of a blue collar sin’dorei. He comes from a family of builders and miners. He spent much time among the dwarves and has a penchant for their drink. He lost much when Arthas attacked Silvermoon and joined up with the Blood Knights later to deal with his grief. There he met Koralie who became one of his best friends. During a covert mission in Icecrown Citadel, things went terribly wrong and he sacrificed his life to save his other best friend, Jasael, only to be raised again as a death knight. His redemption came during the final assault on the Lich King.
Kariki Copperwise
Class: Holy priest
Professions: Engineering and Inscription
Why I started playing her: Kariki was originally a troll and I totally cheated to level her. I had 45 levels to grant after doing RAF, so I leveled a priest to 15, then granted her the levels while standing by the bank in Orgrimmar. I got many whispers of “OMG HAX” when people saw the string of achievements. Come Cataclysm I switched her to a goblin because they’re adorable. Also, my healing partner had plans to level a goblin shammy and we thought it would be hilarious to have an alt goblin healing team.
What she does now: I heal on her when people feel like carrying me. 😉
Character Story: Coming soon…maybe.
Katalinia Rivalen
Class: Fury Warrior
Professions: Um…I’ll get back to you on that
Why I started playing her: When Cata first launched, my guild was after the Stay Classy achievement. After having taken care of the tauren druid and goblin priest requirements, I took a look at what other race/class combos we were missing. I noticed that no one in my guild had a forsaken warrior above level 30 so I started up Katy. Previous attempts at leveling a warrior failed, but I thought maybe the improved leveling throughout Tirisfal, Silverpine, and Hilsbrad that I heard about might get me through it. That worked, as did realizing that forsaken females have the best freaking two handed melee animations in the game. FRONT FLIP! Somewhere in there, I realized I loved fury. She’s probably the quickest I ever leveled a character.
What she does now: She stands in front of the Oracle quartermaster, cursing me for being reduced to buying eggs with tickbird hatchlings in them. I fear her vengeance will be deadly.
Character Story: Katalinia was a member of SI:7, serving as an operative in Horde territories, collecting and sending intelligence to the Alliance. Shortly before the Shattering, she returned to Stormwind, only to be accused, tried, and hung for treason. She was later risen by the Val’kyr of Sylvanas, a turn of events that she welcomes as a means for her revenge.
Jasael Evensun
Class: Prot Pally
Professions: Mining and…?
Why I started playing him: Jas is the second half of the RAF pair I started. I also wanted him for RP purposes. I ended up really enjoying leveling as prot and and he’s 85 now, despite already having a max level paladin. I also liked the idea of playing a traditional lawful good paladin after creating my anti-pally.
What he does now: Looks at me accusingly while I refuse to actually tank with him.
Character Story: Jas was born of priviledge, with a mother who was a judge and a father who was highly ranked in the quel’dorei military. He’s an excellent leader, and was in charge of training Koralie and Tenian when they joined the Blood Knights. The three of them became close friends, and remain that way to this day, despite Jas not really approving of a lot of Koralie’s life choices.
Fayliana
Class: Survival Hunter
Professions: Enchanting/Jewelcrafting
Why I started playing her: After years of not being able to play a hunter, I finally managed to level one when I had to have my dog put to sleep a couple of months ago. I wrote a post about this, but the TLDR version of it is, I started the character sitting next to my dog and leveled her while giving belly rubs. I tamed a fox who looked like her, named her Kaiya in honor of the dog I was losing.
What she does now: She’s at level 60. I’ll have her leveled before Mists drops.
Character story: She doesn’t have one. She’s not an RP character. She’s just my way of honoring my dog.
Kynsaia
Class: Resto/Enhancement Shammy
Professions: None yet
Why I started playing her: I liked the idea of orc shammies, but could never get into the class. When LFD dropped, I decided to level a character by healing my way through dungeons. Kynsaia is that character.
What she does now: She’s stuck for the moment around level 57. Currently third on my priority list of toons to level.
Character story: Kynsaia is a stormbender aboard a ship in the Horde Navy. She’s very rough and tumble and enjoys drinking and kicking ass. I don’t RP on her seriously, but she’s fun to bring along to events from time to time.
Letana Duskbane
Class: Sub Rogue
Why I started playing her: She was supposed to be a 100% RP character. I was drawn into leveling her by the desire to get more pretty gear.
What she does now: She’s currently at level 80, and I’m undecided if I want to keep leveling her. I probably will because gear.
Character Story: Letana is my villain. There’s nothing she enjoys more than manipulating people and using them to ruin other people’s lives. She’s relatively young, but dangerous with the amount of control she has over men who want to possess her. Currently, she’s pulling strings within the Blood Knights. She also happens to be Koralie’s cousin, and blames her for derailing her life.
The Bank Alt
Class: Mage
Professions: She’s only level 21.
Why I started playing her: Oddly, I did not start playing her with the intentions of making her a bank alt. I rolled her up because I wanted to RP Koralie’s mother for some reason, and so I just picked the most generic blood elf class I could think of. I also didn’t have a mage yet, so I thought it worked. Turns out I don’t really enjoy playing a mage, and I can’t imagine her running all over the world killing things anyway, so she turned into a bank alt instead.
What she does now: She stands around in Silvermoon trying to deal with the vast amount of crafting mats I’ve collected over the years that I’ve convinced myself I will need someday. I also am trying to learn how to play the AH on her. I like getting pretty dresses for her to wear and one of my biggest achievements in WoW was logging on at the right time to get at Formal Dangui. I level her exactly once a year when the Midsummer Fire Festival rolls around.
Character Story: As mentioned before, she’s Koralie’s mother. She makes jewelry, and she likes cooking exotic foods and collecting antiquities from other cultures. She has a very extensive greenhouse room in her home where she tends to a lot of flowers.
Ayamei
Class: Prot Warrior
Professions: Mining/Jewelcrafting
Why I started playing her: After some drama with my guild during Firelands and some real life drama as well, I decided I needed a break but still wanted to be able to play WoW. I had started a night elf warrior after the Shattering patch hit so I could see what happened to Darkshore, since I was planning to use it for a story I was writing about Koralie. When I decided I needed my break, I started playing Ayamei again with the intention of learning how to tank on her. I actually did tank on her a few times while leveling up, and as a spec I think prot is very fun. I leveled her to 85 and worked on gearing her for awhile, but then felt ready to play my Horde characters again, so I left her on the back burner.
What she does now: I recently transfered Ayamei to Wyrmrest Accord and I am SO HAPPY that I did. A few of my guildies have Alliance alts over there, and I’d really like to start playing her more.
Character Story: Coming soon
Adeiran
Class: Combat Rogue
Professions: Herbalism/Incription
Why I started playing him: One of my friends invited me to roll up an alt for an RP event on Wyrmrest Accord that another of her friends was holding. We both ended up rolling up nelf rogues and we went to event, which was fun. I marveled at how awesome Wyrmrest Accord seemed, then went back to Argent Dawn to play my mains some more.
What he does now: He’s my current leveling project. I would like to hit 85 on him before Mists drops.
Character Story: Coming soon
Melansi Flamedance
Class: Warlock
Professions: Tailoring/Enchanting. In theory.
Why I started playing her: I wanted to do Recruit a Friend and none of my friends wanted to be recruited. So I just started a second account and dual box leveled up a warlock/pally pair.
What she does now: She stands in Everlook functioning as a neutral AH mule. Occasionally I RP on her.
Character Story: Melansi absolutely cannot remember her life prior to being raised as a forsaken. She can’t remember her name or how she died. Sometime after (or during) the Northrend War was when all of that happened. She’s generally bitter, but she has a wicked sense of humor about it, and she likes making people feel uncomfortable with her undeadness. She’s rarely seen without her felpuppy, Thoofun.
